A Comprehensive Wound Center is a coordinated outpatient program that utilizes advanced treatments like hyperbaric oxygen (HBO2) therapy to treat patients with all types of wounds, especially those that are complex and difficult to heal.
HBO2 therapy is an important component to a comprehensive wound center as it affords patients with hard-to-heal wounds that have not responded to traditional wound care treatments a safe, effective modality for healing.
- Prevent patient migration.
- Attract new patients.
- Enhance wound healing outcomes.
- Lower amputation rates.
- Establish your hospital as a wound care leader in your community.
HBO2 therapy may be used as an important adjunctive therapy for a number of approved indications, including, but not limited to, the following:
Diabetic wounds of the lower extremities
Chronic, refractory osteomyelitis
Delayed radiation injury (soft tissue and bony necrosis)
Osteoradionecrosis
Preparation or preservation of compromised skin flaps and grafts (preparation is indicated only for patients who have had a previously failed flap or graft)
Crush injuries
Necrotizing infections
