Hyperbaric Oxygen (HBO2) Therapy
Establish your hospital as a wound care leader in your community.
HBO2 therapy is an important component to an advanced wound care program as it affords patients with hard-to-heal wounds that have not responded to traditional wound care treatments a safe, effective modality for healing.
Prevent patient migration.
Offering HBO2 therapy creates a comprehensive wound care program, reducing leakage to external providers and keeping patients within the system.
Attract new patients.
HBO2 therapy attracts complex wound, vascular and oncology patients, strengthening referral relationships and positioning your hospital as a destination for advanced wound care.
Enhance healing outcomes.
HBO2 therapy enhances the body’s ability to heal, reducing amputation rates, lowering readmissions and improving patient quality of life.
Capture additional revenue.
When used appropriately, HBO2 therapy can add an additional revenue stream for your hospital, providing great reimbursement and longevity of revenue after one-time buildout costs.
What is HBO2 Therapy?
HBO2 therapy is a medical treatment prescribed by a provider to enhance the body’s ability to heal. During HBO2 therapy, patients breathe 100% pure oxygen while inside a pressurized chamber. The pressure inside this chamber is about two and a half times greater than the normal pressure in the atmosphere.
This high-pressure environment allows the blood to carry more oxygen to all parts of the body to repair injured tissue. HBO2 therapy also helps to fight certain infections, such as those that occur in the bone.
Many different conditions have been shown to benefit from HBO2 therapy, especially chronic, non-healing wounds, including diabetic wounds of the lower extremities, delayed radiation injury, compromised skin flaps and grafts and other approved indications.
